Greetings and God's peace with you!
We've been trying to get the word out about a small business deal working with the Church. After consulting the Parish Council, asking around the community, and talking it over with more experienced and business savvy priests, Sacred Heart is looking to sell a small portion of the in-town land to young parishioners looking to build roots in our town. This is not a charity give, we have agreed to look into what a real fair price is.
Here is a picture of the proposed land. The parking lot is essentially plots 28-26, we want to keep 25-22 for overflow parking as well as (maybe in many YEARS) an above ground parish hall possibility. The couple is looking at lots 16-19. In short, we'll still have 25, 24, 23, 22, 21, and 20 open.
So please, spread the word! We're looking forward to inviting people into our parish and town on a permanent basis!
There are some rumors that we've already had to correct:
1. They are going to take all the land. Answer: Nope. Just a small slice.
2. The Church is charging waaaay too much. Answer: No. We are waiting on professionals to give us guidance on what is fair.
OTHER NEWS: Giving and Support
With no weekly collection, our parish expenses unfortunately still exist in order to help people in different ways. However, we're looking into two things:
1. Pinnacle bank says you can give any donation to either church (Sacred Heart or Assumption) by simply marking an envelope and placing it in their night drop box. Be sure to put your name if you want the end of year tax credit for your donations!
2. We're working on Online giving. Ways to set up automatic tithing where you don't have to do a thing.
3. The banker suggested that with Online Bill pay, you can automatically send any donations to Pinnacle Bank as giving for Sacred Heart or Assumption.
So, in short, lots of things happening! Stay tuned!
In Christ,
~Fr. Hall
We will try putting our weekly offering in the night drop box at Pinnacle Bank.
We like the idea of selling the land. If you wanted an idea of the price of a Roseland town lot, you could contact Allen Ehrman or Mark Parr to check on the purchase price is.
